“Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
What We All Need
When Jesus was talking with the woman at the well, the water He was referring to is without a doubt His teaching, His grace, His love, His reconciliation and the life change that comes through it.
When Jesus said this, He was in a country where there are vast deserts and often a great need for water, speaking to a woman who had to, several times a day, go to a well to get water. It’s a striking image.
A person’s soul, by nature, is like such a desert. It thirsts for peace, happiness, satisfaction and security. It daily sets out to find it. Looking for it everywhere, but finding what lasts nowhere.
What better mission can we have then, than to share the water that Jesus gives? The peace, the satisfaction, the security. To give them a drink from the only One who truly satisfies what they are really thirsting for.
So how do we do that? We seek God’s will in responding to the spiritual and physical needs of our fellow man and help to provide those needs.
We aren’t called to change the world. We are called to help those in need. To be the hands and feet of Jesus. To love and to share. One life at a time. One community at a time. We’re sharing the love of God that leads to eternal life and we’d love for you to join us on this incredible journey.
Together we are changing lives!
