1 John 3:17-18
True Caring
“If anyone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help, how can the love of God be living in that person? My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but with our actions and true caring.”
The Second Well
After hearing about what God was doing through Chrispine Katonga in the communities and villages around Lusaka, (read about it here), people started contributing generously to the work being done there.
Chrispine had been teaching the Word of God and ministering to another village in the Muchinga Mountains and they too desperately needed access to clean water. Again, God had already raised the funds without a single request from any team member.
So the team went to work planning a second trip and a well was put in near the village in 2013. Once again the people in that village too, gave God the praise. They were so grateful.
Meeting people’s physical needs very often has spiritual rewards. The people of the village were amazed that someone loved them enough to come from half way around the world to do something, anything, for them. In the words of one of the village women, “Surely God cares for us to send us someone from so far away to show us His love.”
On this trip God also opened doors to other needs we were able to help meet, including contributions to an orphanage in Kalingalinga and contributions to another church group who are sheltering children from the Congo who were orphaned in those uprisings.
“Surely God cares for us to send us someone from so far away to show us His love.”
